Hohbach-Lewin, Inc. provided structural engineering services for the recently opened John A. & Cynthia Fry Gunn Building for the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR). This conference and office facility at Stanford University, near Hoover Tower, features exterior detailing and materials at the exterior that refer to the Romanesque architecture of the campus’ original inner quadrangle. The stone cladding and steel window system required careful attention to structural detailing to provide compatibility with the building’s modern steel buckling restrained braced frame lateral force resisting system. The architects were Ike Kligerman Barkley in association with Kornberg Associates.
