Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal A Redevelopment
Newark, New Jersey
Hohbach-Lewin Protective Services Division Manager, Kyle Haas, S.E. was the Project Manager for the comprehensive protective design of the new $1.4B, one million square feet terminal. The new world class terminal will serve approximately 14 million annual passengers, making it a primary hub for the air travel in and out of the New York and New Jersey Metropolitan regions.
The new facility was designed to mitigate against a host of terrorist attacks, including high-explosive and vehicular ramming. Occupant safety and continuity of operations objectives were achieved through a combination of explicit hardening and operational security through close collaboration with the Design-Build team and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
