This new 38,000 square foot, themed restaurant was constructed as part of the Downtown Disney expansion in Anaheim Disneyland. The structural systems include steel moment frames and CMU shear walls over a full sub-grade basement. The design team was presented with the interesting design challenge of supporting numerous architectural features such as a large tunneled aquarium entry between the lobby and the restaurant. The construction cost was $28M.

Pacific Commons Regional Retail Center, Fremont, CA

Hohbach-Lewin completed the design for this new 400,000 square foot "super fast-track" retail center in under three months from preliminary concept to permit. Construction began in February so that the entire center could be open for business by Thanksgiving of 2005. Maintaining this compressed schedule required multiple phased packages and close co-ordination with the general contractor throughout the entire process. The construction cost was $650M.

McKevitt Volvo, Emeryville, CA

Hohbach-Lewin Inc. has designed over 50 Auto Dealerships in the United States. They include the new McKevitt Volvo Dealership designed by Gensler, in Emeryville, California. This four-story structure will house a large open multi-level showroom. The exposed structure will include a two-story trussed element at the glazed facade. The building will be highly visible to all drivers heading East on the San Francisco Bay Bridge. The construction cost was $10M.

Charleston Plaza, Mountain View, CA

This new, 130,000 square foot center in Mountain View, includes a new Best Buy, REI and Bed Bath & Beyond as its major tenants. Working closely with the architect and the owner/contractor, Hohbach-Lewin completed an efficient and cost effective design in three months. The total construction cost was $30M.

Stevens Creek Acura, Santa Clara, CA

This Acura dealership project included a 5000 square foot addition and a complete upgrade storefront that included a front entry canopy and entry signature tower. The construction cost for the project is $1.5M.

Infiniti of Oakland, Oakland, CA

This new 40,000 square foot dealership in Oakland is right next to Freeway 880, across from the Oakland Coliseum. Working closely with the geotechnical engineer, Hohbach-Lewin was able to develop a foundation system that did not require piles or other deap foundations. This cost-effective approach minimized the construction cost to approximately $5m.

Plaza San Jose, San Jose, CA

Blake Hunt Development Company working with the City of San Jose Redevelopment Agency commissioned a San Francisco architect to design this new 185,000 square foot retail center. The project is scheduled to open mid-year 2005. Lateral force resisting systems consists of Steel Moment Resisting Frames acting in conjunction with masonry and wood framed shear walls. The construction budget was $30M.

Gateway Plaza, Vallejo, CA

The project consisted of converting an existing 120,000 square foot tilt-up warehouse building to accommodate three new retail tenants: Michaels, Linen-N-Things, and Old Navy. The project was completed in 2001. The front faŤade required extensive modifications to conform to corporate identity requirements and to provide architecturally pleasing open storefronts. The total construction cost was approximately $5M.

Lincoln Mercury Dealership, Cheyenne, WY

The renovation of this 50,000 square foot dealership in Cheyenne, Wyoming was completed in four months. Working closely with the architect and Turner Construction, Hohbach-Lewin developed a structural system that met the construction budget of $6M.
